  • "Stone People" explores the lyrical nature of life and the essence of existence through painting by projecting human emotions onto the primal aesthetics of nature. Using natural elements such as rocks, trees, grass, and flowers as formative components, I have created human-like characters called Stone People. They are self-portraits reflecting my emotions, as well as mythical symbols that attempt to transcend the finite nature of human existence.

The figures in the paintings are composed of small and fragile elements like stones, grass, and flowers. Yet they run, love, dance, and repeat the cycles of blooming and fading-mirroring the flow of life. Though they may appear insignificant, they contain a persistent and beautiful vitality within.

Stones are entities that hold emotion. As they break, soften, and harden, they carry traces of time. Grass and flowers continuously bloom and wither, revealing the cycle of nature.

These become mediums that symbolize human emotions, relationships, and temporality.

Through these symbolic forms, I aim to speak about the transformation of existence and the flow of emotions. Ultimately, Stone People represent ourselves, and through their stories, I hope viewers will reflect on their own lives.
