  • Through her work, Lim Su Bin builds what she calls a Pink Utopia — a space where joy, tranquility, and renewal coexist. Her signature motif, the pink horse, represents the artist’s own journey toward healing and hope. It becomes a gentle guide, leading viewers through dreamlike forests, glimmering pink fields, and into moments of pause and reflection. Lim draws inspiration from the small, intimate rhythms of daily life — tending plants, observing seasons, gathering seeds — and transforms them into poetic visual narratives. Her recurring image of the pink bean (핑크콩) symbolizes the seed of happiness, a metaphor for the possibility of turning ordinary life into a utopia. Her canvases, rich with soft yet vibrant hues, blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. Each work is an invitation to rest, recharge, and plant one’s own “happiness seed” to cultivate peace in the everyday.

By expanding her compositions with aerial perspectives and layered colors, Lim creates immersive worlds that viewers can step into. Her paintings are not merely landscapes but emotional sanctuaries, reminding us that even in a busy, fragmented world, moments of serenity and wonder are within reach.

“My paintings are sanctuaries where the pink horse and pink bean guide us toward moments of rest and rediscovery. Each work is an invitation to plant a seed of happiness, turning everyday life into a personal utopia. Through these pink worlds, I hope to share tranquility, courage, and the joy of imagining a brighter future.”
